The film festival is a bonanza of haute couture and inspiring outfits
The Venice Film Festival offers up two distinct dress codes: attendees must master their smart casual arrival look (usually via boat) for day time press conferences, as well as show-stopping glamour and dazzling jewels for the red carpet premieres each evening.
This year the new Beetlejuice film opened proceedings, with other highlights including Queer starring Daniel Craig, Maria starring Angelina Jolie as Maria Callas, and Joker: Folie à Deux with Lady Gaga’s debut as Harley Quinn opposite Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker.

Angelina Jolie changed into a second outfit, as she travelled by boat to more daytime engagements. She accessorised her Saint Laurent little black dress with a Cartier brooch. The brooch is believed to be from Maria Callas’s personal collection – a 1972 piece which depicts an emerald-eyed panther sitting atop a carved agate stone.
